Artificial Multimodal Perception for Cognitive Systems

This research line intends to develop artificial perception algorithms, including integrated multisensory computational models, namely by mimicking cognitive systems.  Topics to be addressed include:

- Design of more autonomous, more intelligent and adaptive artificial systems;

- Probabilistic approaches towards a new generation of algorithms to deal with uncertainty, ambiguities and conflicts inherent to the perceptual process;

- Combination and integration of sources of sensory information derived from several different modalities, including vision, touch and audition.

- Methods for the  combination and integration of multiple sources of sensory information;
