    Gustavo Assunção received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2019. Since then he has been a researcher with IS3L at the Institute of Systems and Robotics, Coimbra, Portugal, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Coimbra, Portugal. As of 2020, his research has been selected for funding by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the aegis of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES) of the Government of Portugal. His research interests encompass deep learning, computational neuroscience, neurocognitive computing and a bio-inspired mathematical foundation for artificial intelligence, to which he has been contributing since 2019.
