
Edson Costa

Edson B. M. Costa is a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Coimbra – Portugal, working in the Computational Intelligence and Control Group (CIC) of the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR-UC). He received the M.Sc. degree in Automation and Control from Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA) and the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Instituto Federal do Maranhão (IFMA). He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering of the IFMA where he is currently a sabbatical professor. He is a reviewer of Advances in Mechanical Engineering, Ad-Hoc reviewer of the PROPESQ-IFPE (volunteer) and several national and international conferences. His research interests include: computational and artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, intelligent control, predictive control, fault-tolerant control, machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, fuzzy systems, neural networks, mobile and aerial robotics, robot manipulators control, industrial and complex systems, predictive control and fault-tolerant control.
