Marco Domingues is a M.Sc. student of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Coimbra. In September 2021, he started working on his M.Sc. dissertation entitled "Interoperable and Secure IoT Architecture for Digital Healthcare: Wireless Monitoring of Untethered Patients in Smart Beds", under the supervision of Doctor David Portugal and Fernanda Famá. The work is being developed within the WoW CMU-Portugal project, aiming to propose a novel architecture centered on a series of untethered, simple and low-cost biomonitoring stickers for hospital patients. These biostickers communicate with smart IoT nodes embedded in the patients' hospital beds, as part of an IoT infrastructure that connects to the Hospital Information System (HIS) for health professionals.
