Matheus Kovaleski

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Brazil) in 2023. My academic background focuses on artificial intelligence, computer vision, and distributed systems, with applications to environmental monitoring and intelligent decision support systems. My research activities started during the early years of my undergraduate studies, initially focusing on data analysis and mathematical modeling. Since 2025, I have been involved in research projects at the University of Coimbra and SIM4SAFETY related to wildfire monitoring and decision support systems. In the FireSys project, I have worked on machine learning methods for wildfire risk assessment using satellite data. I also participated in the WOOSU project, focused on optimization of wastewater treatment plants, contributing to monitoring, simulation, and process specification. My research interests focus on machine learning, computer vision, remote sensing, and intelligent decision support systems, particularly in data-driven methods for risk analysis and wildfire.
