Cooling II: Analysis of Regional Markets for Air Conditioning Technologies in the Building Commercial Sector and Impact of the Development of these Technologies

The development of air conditioning in the Mediterranean area generates more and more serious problems, as far as electricity consumption is concerned. It is one of the sectors where potential energy consumption is the greatest in the coming years and which will have an important impact on the environment. On the other hand this create opportunities for installing in buildings efficient envelope components and cooling equipment. This proposal is the second phase of the action THERMIE B nº STR/1051/96/FR (task 1 and 2) aimed: Analyse 3 regional markets in terms of advanced envelope, window and air conditioning technologies; Analyse the potential impact of the development and implementation of these technologies in terms of environmental protection and economic activity. The action DIS/1366/97/PO aims to disseminate the results of these studies and to build a data-base about these technologies.
