Gas IRP involves a process to assess a comprehensive set of supply and demand side options based upon consistent planning assumptions to create a resource mix that satisfies the customers’ short-term and long-term energy service needs in a reliable way at the lowest total cost. In Europe, there are very few examples of Gas Integrated Resource Planning. This methodology can bring substantial benefits, including: Reduce energy consumption through energy-efficient options and fuel switching; Reduce peak demand, deferring the need for large investments; Reduce environmental impacts; Improve economic efficiency of industrial activities and reduce costs in the operation of the buildings and homes; The work to be carried out involves three gas IRP projects in three different countries of the European union.
