André Matos Silva

André Matos Silva finished his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Coimbra in September 2025 with a dissertation titled "Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Based Detection of Asian Hornet Nests Using Neural Networks". He has previous experience in UAV operation, field data acquisition with drones, multimodal mapping and perception pipelines. In October 2025, he started a research fellowship position within the "ForestSphere" project on airborne mapping with drones for Digital Twin applications in forestry, supervised by Prof. Paulo Peixoto and Prof. David Portugal.
